DIY Christmas BannerYou’ll only need a few materials for the project, some you are likely to already have at home.

  • Laminated burlap sheets in green, red, and
  • Adhesive die-cut burlap shapes (assorted colors, shapes, and sizes)
  • Twine
  • Scissors

Fun tip: get a variety of colors and shapes to decorate for any season!

Now that you’ve got your supplies assembled, you’re ready to begin! First, get a festive holiday beverage like apple cider and put on some tunes. Music and crafting go together like Santa and reindeer.

Take your burlap sheets and cut them in half. Each burlap rectangle should measure 8.5” x 5.5.”

After you have each rectangle cut, take a hole puncher or something sharp to make two small holes at the top of each burlap sheet on the 5.5” side. You can make these holes about 1” from each edge. (The twine will be threaded through these holes in the final step. )

When you’re done with that, take your adhesive-backed shapes and arrange them on the burlap sheets in a pattern that you like. The possibilities are endless! Remove adhesive and apply them to the rectangles.

Insert the twine in the holes of the rectangles to create a fully functioning banner. Leave about 2’ or so of twine on each end so you’ll be able to hang it. All that’s left to do is admire your handiwork! Happy holidays!
