Have you seen Springs Creative’s fabric designed by Jennifer Paganelli? If not you owe it to yourself to check out some of her beautiful work! Speaking of Jennifer Paganelli, today, we are celebrating our fan and sewing newbie, Colleen Kluber, and her use of Jennifer Paganelli’s fabrics. Kluber_pic

Colleen decided to start sewing when her best friend’s daughter developed a clothing sensitivity, often complaining that her clothes were “itchy,” “too tight,” or “stiff.” Instead of just listening to her friend’s woes over finding her daughter acceptable clothes, Colleen decided to get busy sewing. After her husband gave her a sewing machine for Christmas, she learned the sewing basics at Jo-Ann’s Sewing 101 Class. Since then she hasn’t stopped sewing!

Colleen found a free Craftsy mini-course video “Bag Making Basics,” and picked two fabrics from Jennifer Paganelli’s Jenny Eliza collection, the “Vertical Floral” and “Green Dots.” With the addition of thread, and a zipper, she had everything she needed to make her bag. After one successful bag, she modified the pattern herself and made a larger tote.

Bag & Pouch ExteriorI am already eyeing up my next combination of Jenny Eliza fabric for another bag.  The colors are SO fun. Beautiful fabrics from Springs Creative are a great motivation for sewers such as myself to create fun projects like these!

Colleen has now progressed to pajama pants, and is working on pants. It doesn’t take an expert to sew something unique and beautiful! Jenny Eliza, and plenty other beautiful fabrics are available at Jo-Ann’s. Check it out today and get to sewing!
